Dreams Require Action

WHAT'S ON MY MIND THIS WEEK

Dreams. Everyone has them. Some of us are scared to admit them. Scared to say them out loud. What if someone heard us and laughed at our dreams. GOOD! Your dreams should be so big that if someone else heard them, they would laugh. It doesn't matter. They are your dreams, not theirs.

Define your dream. Write it down. Plan an action plan because a dream without action is just a wish. Be determined in your pursuit of that dream. The place between where you are now and where you want to be, it's called ACTION! That action might be showing up for your workout. It might be pushing through a difficult workout. It might be showing up when you're sore. It might be just believing in yourself enough to take that next step. I know I'm talking about health here, because that's my passion and I believe everyone should have goals around their health. However, we all have other dreams too. Maybe we want to start a business, go back to school, be a stay at home mom, get that new job, be able to afford that vacation. Whatever it is, YOU ARE WORTH IT! When we decide we are worth it and we decide to stop letting fear hold us back, we find our determination to take action.



I didn't realize how much my determination and passion in LIFE shows through until this week when the ladies at my bible study used just that word to describe me.

They also said I was confident about standing firm in who I am. I think that may be a nice way of saying opinionated. :) However, I will never shy away from being determined and firm in my belief that every person deserves to be living their best life. And you can't live your best life if you don't have your health. There is an EPIDEMIC in this country of obesity and illness because we don't pay attention to how we treat our bodies. I'm on a mission to help people realize there's a better way and it's not that hard. There's a thing called balance and it is possible. I mean....I have abs...they are just buried under my love for wine. :)

WHAT AM I READING OR LISTENING TO?

This week, I listened to the audiobook version of Uninvited: Living Loved When You Feel Less Than, Left Out, and Lonely by Lysa TerKeurst. It's such a great book that reminds us we are not alone in our feelings of rejection. Have you ever walked into a group setting, where you didn't know anyone well, and had no idea who to talk to and what to say to them? Did you whip out your phone and act like you had a suddenly urgent message to attend to? Did you strike up a conversation with the bartender just so you didn't have to stand by yourself? Ok...maybe it's just me. Some people can walk up to anyone and create conversation. You know those people who can talk to the wall and make it interesting. I am NOT one of those people. There's a fear of rejection and judgment. I don't know where it originates but I know I'm not alone. This book helped me realize that and to stand firm in who God created me to be and know that is enough.

I'm still reading/listening to High Performance Habits by Brendon Bruchard and then discussing with my husband.  We're still on the chapter about courage. Maybe we'll finish it this week!  If you've got any goals, this book is a great guide towards working at your highest potential.
