This week in healthy living!
What's happening in my world this week...
Because the week was kind of a mess, I struggled some with my motivation to get out of bed this week. Maybe you can relate. Here's what I do when I struggle like that to keep myself on track because consistency is THE difference maker! I also appreciated more than ever that I can work out at home and I don't even need to match or comb my hair. Seriously....it's a time saver when you get up at 5:30am. :)
Need proof...check it out.
Despite the craziness, I was able to make some time for drinks/dinner with a girlfriend I hadn't caught up with in a while and that was amazing! I also had a nice relaxing Easter weekend, just my husband and I, and the dogs of course. I hope you were able to celebrate the holiday with your loved ones. We had a couple of dates and spent a nice Sunday afternoon enjoying a beautiful day taking the dogs for a walk. Of course, the dogs are not the most behaved animals when coming in contact with other dogs or new humans. Anyone relate to that? They love the adventure but sometimes they are more trouble than it's worth! Some downtime made me reflect on how grateful I am to have Mark in my life.
WHAT AM I READING OR LISTENING TO?
This last week was a crazy one! I was driving a lot so I got to listen to some audiobooks and podcasts. I've been reading/listening to High Performance Habits by Brendon Bruchard and then discussing with my husband. We're using it as a "bonding experience". It's been great though to read separately and come back together to discuss. If you've got any goals, this book is a great guide towards working at your highest potential. Some of the habits described in this book have been immediately impactful to my life and my husbands. You can listen to his book for free on his Podcast (you have to go back to about a year ago) or get the hard copy of the book with shipping only be going to his website.
I finished the book Like She Owns the Place by Cara Alwill Leyba. If you need a boost of self-confidence and learning how to own your life, this is a good one! I know sometimes I struggle with feeling like I'm good enough or capable enough and Cara tells you to just let that ish go! Your past also does not have to define your future. I talk a little more about that here.
I'm also currently listening to the Audiobook of In Pieces which is about the life of actress Sally Field. I'm enjoying learning more about her history and her life. If you love a good autobiography, I recommend it.
TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY!
Britney lost 64 lbs in 2 rounds of this 80 day at home workout/nutrition program.
"My body has transformed and totally reshaped! My butt has lifted, my arms and legs are rock solid, and I'm seeing muscles I never knew I had! I am so much stronger both physically and mentally!"
Way to go, Britney!

Maybe it's time to get out of your comfort zone. Yeah...it's a beautiful thing but nothing good ever grows there! Consider this...Everything that’s automatic is downhill. Everything worthwhile is uphill. If we take no action, our lives are on a downhill trajectory. It requires the intention to change that motion to moving uphill. Knowing how you will continue to grow is what makes you grow.
RECIPE OF THE WEEK
Pancakes that are healthy for you! I love these Banana Oat Pancakes when I'm craving the cakes but don't want all the carbs. Check it out and try them for yourself!
PARTING WORDS
Heres to this week being a little less than of a struggle than last week (maybe it was just me). However...I"m not off to the greatest start. Too many late nights and cocktails this weekend took it's toll on my this morning. But remember this, it's not our motivation that keeps us going. It's our habits! Form healthy habits and they will sustain you long after your motivation has left. NO ONE feels motivated every day.
Let's do this!
